Faculty Positions

Position: Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in RNA Biology, Genomics, and Informatics
Department: Successful candidates will be located in one of four departments within the School of MCB: Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology, Microbiology or Molecular and Integrative Physiology, depending on the specific area of interest and expertise.
Closing Date: November 14, 2022
Starting Date: August 16, 2023
Brief Description: The school of MCB seeks candidates who will develop an independent research program to study the roles of various types of RNAs and associated RNA binding proteins (RBPs) in both fundamental and medicinal pathways. Topics may include but are not limited to non-protein coding RNA-mediated gene regulation during organismal development, RNA and RBP function during neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic disorders and cancer, epigenetic and transgenerational inheritance, RNA genome and RNA modifications on cancer development, progression, metastasis and/or resistance, organization of cellular domains and biomolecular condensates, innovative approaches to imaging RNAs in living cells, RNA-mediated regulation in microbial systems, and functional RNA genomics including single cell RNAomics.

Position: Tenure-track assistant or Associate Professor in Infectious Diseases
Department: Microbiology
Closing Date: October 30, 2022
Starting Date: August 16, 2023
Brief description: The Department of Microbiology seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track position in the field of microbiology at the assistant or associate professor level. We seek candidates addressing the basic biology, pathogenesis, population dynamics, and/or evolution of viral or bacterial infectious agents, especially those with epidemic or pandemic potential. The candidate is expected to conduct independent research, participate in our B.S. and Ph.D. programs, and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Position: Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Stem Cell Biology
Department:
Cell and Developmental Biology
Closing Date: October 30, 2022
Starting Date: August 16, 2023
Brief description: The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology seeks candidates with evidence or promise of an innovative and independent research program to study stem cell biology at the molecular, cellular, or organismal level. Topics may include but are not limited to Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of stem cell potency and differentiation, RNA-mediated regulation of stem cell potency and differentiation, Organoid models of human development and organogenesis, Organoid models of human diseases, Regeneration and regenerative medicine. CDB/MCB is especially interested in candidates applying a combination of cutting-edge approaches to stem cells and/or organoid models to gain fundamental and mechanistic insights into stem cell biology, human development, or diseases. The approaches include but are not limited to the use of functional genomics, single-cell multi-omics, bioinformatics, bioengineering, proteomics, metabolomics and super-resolution imaging.
