School of Molecular & Cellular Biology Enhancement Fund This fund provides support for a variety of initiatives, including, but not limited to the following: The Biology, Experience, Scholarship, and Training (BEST) scholarship program was created to attract exceptionally talented students to our undergraduate biology program. BEST recipients receive a $5,000 merit-based scholarship during their first year, plus mentorship from the school directors. Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURFs) support students who conduct research in faculty labs. MCB is dedicated to increasing the participation of underrepresented populations in research and actively encourages applications from these groups. The Professional Mentoring Program provides opportunities for students to connect, one-on-one, with alumni and professionals practicing in the field. Graduate fellowships support students in the Departments of Biochemistry, Cell & Developmental Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular & Integrative Physiology. Classroom renovations create new active learning classrooms, improve instruction, and enhance student experience.
